Advance Auto Parts Offers Free Video Downloads Through iTunes

ROANOKE, Va.--June 15, 2006--Advance Auto Parts announced today that it is offering free downloads of its video clinics showing instructional car repair information through Apple's video iPod technology.

The partnership with Apple makes downloads available by logging on to www.AdvanceAutoParts.com, clicking the Know-How tab, and launching the free podcasts subscription.

Advance Auto Parts is a leading automotive aftermarket retailer of parts, batteries, accessories and maintenance items with nearly 3,000 stores across the United States, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.

More than 20 of Advance's "how-to" video clinics are available. The video clinics show do-it-yourselfers (DIYers) how to perform a variety of maintenance procedures, from replacing brake pads, to changing oil or installing shocks and struts, and include quick instructions related to a variety of automotive projects.

"The video downloads are an indispensable tool that provide vehicle owners with mechanical instructions from the comfort of their driveway or garage, without them having to navigate difficult instruction manuals or paperwork at the repair site," said Bryan Gregory, director of consumer education for Advance Auto Parts. "More than 11 million video iPods have already been sold since their launch last fall, a clear indication of this technology's convenience and growing popularity. We are excited to be a part of this incredible service."

The free iPod service will be bolstered with new video clinics added monthly to iTunes.com and AdvanceAutoParts.com sites.

Free advice and instruction that help drivers complete their vehicle project - whether it's as simple as a wash and wax or replacing spark plugs - are also available in Advance Auto Parts' stores through the company's Consumer Education Program.

More than 120 brochures take drivers step-by-step through a variety of projects; and monthly "how-to" video clinics are broadcast in every store on the last Saturday of each month at 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on AdvanceTV.

The company's website, AdvanceAutoParts.com, offers articles and "how-to" videos in the website's "Advance Know-How" section. This program helps customers drive safer, and maintain more reliable vehicles by first helping them understand how easy basic car care can be.
