IRVINE, CA - June 14, 2006: The air inside a car contains many particles and substances that can aggravate asthma and allergy sufferers. Volvo's Clean Zone Interior Package (CZIP) works to expel these irritants through a remotely controlled automatic cabin ventilation system. A filter expels any emissions and strong odours that have built up inside the car and a sensor registers the existence of substances such as nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons in the surrounding air and shuts the air intake if the concentration is too high. The system is available as an option on the new S80 and will gradually become available in additional models.
