DADS TO BE HONORED DURING SATURDAY'S RACING ACTIVITIES AT IRWINDALE SPEEDWAY

IRWINDALE, Calif. (June 14, 2006) – 
Irwindale Speedway will honor Dads in attendance during this Saturday night’s 
(June 17) Advantage Ford Fathers Day Night at the Races. Along with some great 
racing, contests will be held throughout the evening providing Dads in 
attendance with the opportunity to win a variety of prizes courtesy of Irwindale 
Speedway’s corporate partners.   

Five races headline 
Saturday’s action including a Demolition Derby. Auto Club Late Model series 
leader Travis Thirkettle will attempt to increase his four-race win streak and 
27 point cushion over second place Tim Huddleston. Bryan Harrell leads the Vista 
Paint Super Stocks series with 335 points including five wins in the first six 
races and a three-race win streak. Rick Crow leads the Justice Brothers Pure 
Stocks points chase as well as a two-race win streak. Ryan Black is on top of 
the West Coast Pro Trucks series with 186 points and two victories. 


 

Gates open at 4 p.m. with 
heat races to determine starting grids. The King Taco fan appreciation autograph 
session will take place on the track at 5:45 p.m. with the first green flag 
waved at 7 p.m.

Test and Tune, the popular 
activity held weekly takes place this Thursday (May 11) under the lights from 
5-10p.m. The activity allows local drag racers the opportunity race their street 
legal cars on Irwindale Speedway’s 1/8-mile drag strip. It costs only $20.00 to 
race, $10.00 to watch ($5.00 for kids 12-6 yrs. and 5 yrs. and under are 
admitted for free).

 

Tickets for all Irwindale 
Speedway events are available for purchase at the Speedway ticket office, by calling (626) 
358-1100 and online at www.irwindalespeedway.com. Auto Club of Southern California members receive a 10% 
discount off of the purchase of up to four (4) adult general admission tickets 
for Saturday oval racing when they show their AAA membership card. Auto Club 
members can also receive discounts on special offers at the concession and 
souvenir stands.
