Kentucky Next For TC Motorsports; Odell

Kentucky Next For TC Motorsports; Odell

SPARTA, Kentucky (June 14, 2006) - - After making their second NASCAR Busch
Series start of the season last weekend at Nashville Superspeedway, Georgia’s
TC Motorsports with blooming talent David Odell steer north towards Sparta,
Kentucky looking to participate in Saturday’s night Meijer 300.
For the second time in two weeks, the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series will be hours
away competing with the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and ARCA RE/MAX Series
at Michigan International Speedway leaving another low car count for the
16th event on the 2006 schedule, but there is still enough entries where a
couple teams will have to load up early and head home.
“We’re fighting the same battle we did last weekend and we turned out just
fine,?? said Odell, driver of the No. 07 TC Motorsports Chevrolet Monte Carlo.
“We weren’t bad at Nashville, but this is a learning curve for me and this
team and we’re making the best of it. Kentucky Speedway is a very fast and
wide track. I’m accustomed to short track races, but the more seat time I’m
getting on the bigger tracks is really helping me.??
For TC Motorsports owner Tammy Clower, competing in this weekend’s event is
crucial. “We’re a small-funded team with limited crew members and we’re
running these races out of our own pocket and it’s tough. We don’t have the same
resources as some of our other competitors, but I think we’re making
ourselves noticeable. We just have to make the race this weekend and finish the
race. So far, nothing should stop us from reaching our goals.??
TC Motorsports heads into the 16th event on the 2006 schedule without the
security of a primary sponsorship. As race weekend quickly approaches, the team
is still looking for additional funding.
“We have a lot to offer for any potential sponsors,?? continued Clower. “We
have a hardworking crew, a talented driver and top equipment. Just think of
what we would be able to do if we had some additional backing. This team is
capable of leading races and running in the top-ten, we just need some help to
make that happen.??
While the team landed in Nashville last weekend without any prior experience
this season, it won’t be the same case this weekend. Earlier this year, TC
Motorsports made their ’06 debut in the ARCA RE/MAX Series with electrifying
results. After starting the Harley-Davidson of Cincinnati 150 from the 20th
position, Odell charged through the pack during the course of the short 103
lap event and amassed as a serious contender for the win before being forced
to settle for eighth.
“Kentucky is one of my favorite tracks,?? explained Odell, a well-known late
model driver for the Lawrenceville, Georgia area. “When we compete in ARCA
we run well. We used that race as a testing session for this weekend’s event.
We had to deal with the weather, handling issues and traffic and we
performed flawlessly. No doubt that the additional track time will help me this
weekend.??
Following Kentucky, the next time TC Motorsports will return to the track
will be next month again at Kentucky competing in the second ARCA event of the
season from the facility. Further races in the NASCAR Busch Series and ARCA
RE/MAX Series will be announced at a later date.
Odell has three prior starts in the NBS with TC Motorsports in at Nashville
twice (2006) and Memphis Motorsports Park (2005).
TC Motorsports is still actively seeking sponsorship for Saturday’s Meijer
300. Interested parties are urged to contact the team directly at 678-776-2715
 or 770-554-0491.
The Meijer 300 (150 laps/300 miles) is the 16th of 35 events on the 2006
NASCAR Busch Series schedule. Practice begins Friday, June 16th at 4:00pm with a
rookie practice to follow at 6:30pm with a happy hour to close the day at
7:00pm. Qualifying is set for Saturday, June 17th at 5:30pm live on SPEED. FX
will air the event live beginning at 7:30PM EST, with MRN handling the
airwaves starting at 7:15 PM CST. The race will also be available via XM radio
channel 144 launching at 7:15pm. CST
