DIRT Modifieds & Sprint Cars at SSP on Thursday; Trail Motors Super
Sportsman, Late Models and Street Stocks Try Again on Friday
NEWBERRYTOWN, PA (June 13, 2006) – The 2006 Advance Auto Parts Super Dirt
Modified Series returns to the Susquehanna Speedway Park on Thursday, June 15
for the $6,000 to win Palmer Candy’s “Schools Out?? 100. If it wasn’t enough
to see an Advanced Auto Parts Super DIRT Modified Series and three former
modified champions challenge the Great American School Bus Racers, then what
else can satisfy your sweet tooth? What about a make-up Sprint Car feature?
R.M. Palmer Company, America’s favorite holiday candy since 1948 will host
the gala evening of racing that now includes a complete 25-lap Sprint Car
feature at no extra admission cost. Susquehanna Speedway Park’s owners, Todd
and Rhonda Fisher and DIRT Modified promoter Vince Vicari have agreed to run
the regularly scheduled events with the Big Block Modifieds which will include
the Xtreme Stock Cars, the Penn Mar Vintage Club, the Great American School
Bus Race and a 410 sprint car feature rained out from June 1st.
Fans from the June 1st postponed event can use their rain checks ($14.00
value) in combination with a Repeat Fan discount ($5.00) for attending the June
8th National Sprint Tour event and pay just $6 for the Palmer Candy School’s
Out 100 DIRT Modified show and 25-lap Sprint Car feature on June 15th.
Former RSCA champions Kenny Brightbill, Jack Johnson and Jamie Mills will
also be competing against the locals in the Great American Bus Race. It has
been said around the speedway that there is “no way?? those modified boys are
taking that trophy.
The DIRT Touring Twelve Modifieds will be led by current point leader Billy
Decker, defending champion Tim Fuller and two-time Susquehanna winner Brett
Hearn. Kenny Brightbill and New Egypt champion, Frank Cozze have each won DIRT
events in the past at Susquehanna and will lead the local posse.
“This event will have everything,?? says Mark Schlott, Vice President of
Operations for Palmer Candy. “The fans should feel like kids in a candy store,??
he added jokingly, “With a little help from Palmer Candy, of course.??
On Friday night, June 16, the Trail Motors Super Sportsman, Late Models and
Street Stocks will be in competition along with the Speedway Auto Sales Mini
Van Construction race.

previous 2 events completed only. However, as a token of its appreciation to the
fans, SSP is offering any fan with a ticket stub from Thursday, June 8, a
$5.00 discount to the races on June 15. Fans with a ticket stub from Friday, May
26 will receive a $2.00 discount for the racing events on Friday, June 16.
Returning fans are encouraged to write their name, address and phone number
on the back of the stub to be entered into special drawings during the season
for great prizes. Last season, 10 winners were drawn from the repeat fans
and each winner received $30 in SSP Gift Certificates for tickets or
