U.S. Department of Energy Final Test Results Show 89% Oil Savings Using puraDYN Bypass Technology on Heavy Duty Diesels

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla.--June 13, 2006--Puradyn Filter Technologies Incorporated today announced it has received the final results of the most thorough evaluation to date of the cost analysis and benefits of bypass filtration technology, conducted by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), through its Advanced Vehicle Testing Activity Division at the Idaho National Laboratory.

The puraDYN(R) bypass oil filtration system was the primary manufacturer selected for the three-year test, beginning in October 2002 through October 2005. The test onboard 8 diesel engine buses (heavy-duty) and six Chevrolet Tahoe (light-duty) gasoline engine sport utility vehicles (SUVs) went approximately 1.2 million miles.

The final results showed 64 out of a total 72 oil changes on the buses were avoided through use of bypass filtration technology. This translates to an 89% reduction in engine oil changes, a substantial savings in new oil purchased and waste oil generated. Final results on the Tahoes showed an average 80% reduction in total oil changes were avoided.

Kevin G. Kroger, President/COO, stated, "The three-year test conducted by the DOE as part of the new Energy Bill concluded that with the proper use of the puraDYN bypass oil filtration system on their diesel engine buses they were able to reduce their oil purchases significantly and at the same time reduce waste oil generation and handling.

"This test was to evaluate the considerable reduction in oil usage as well as cost analysis benefits through the use of bypass filtration. However, another noteworthy benefit of bypass oil filtration witnessed during the test was the cleanliness of the internal engine components, as cleaner internal engine components mean less wear."

Kroger concluded, "The final results published by the DOE confirm the puraDYN system performs exactly as stated. This technology represents a significant part of the overall solution to our dependency on foreign-produced oil by safely and significantly extending oil drains and reducing any fleet's engine oil usage and related maintenance costs."
