CHICAGO--June 13, 2006--GES Exposition Services has been awarded a four-year contract to serve as the official services contractor for the Chicago Auto Show. The nation's largest auto show has been produced by the Chicago Automobile Trade Association (CATA) since 1935 and spans more than 1.25 million sq. ft. of the city's lakefront McCormick Place complex. The contract will begin with the 99th edition of the show in 2007."The depth and experience of GES' Chicago operations and account management teams as well as the company's technology leadership and excellence in operational planning were key factors in our decision to select GES as our show's official services contractor," said Chicago Auto Show General Manager and CATA President Jerry H. Cizek, III. "We also were very impressed with GES' focus on exhibitor communication and their dedication to work with each exhibitor to assist them with budgeting and efficiently managing their costs."
First staged in 1901, the Chicago Auto Show has been held more times than any other auto exposition on the continent.
"GES is extremely pleased to add the Chicago Auto Show to our portfolio of world-class clients," said GES President and CEO Kevin Rabbitt. "The Chicago Auto Show will benefit from GES' technology and service offerings including GES Interactive Venue which will assist CATA and the original equipment manufacturers with sponsorship opportunities."
As part of GES' proposal, a custom e-commerce site for the Chicago Auto Show will be created that will benefit everyone involved in putting on the show. In addition, a new design package was presented which will result in a new and distinctive look to the 2007 show.
