Vision Racing Hands Greg Barnhart The Wheel For Michigan

Vision Racing Hands Greg Barnhart
The Wheel For Michigan
TULSA, Oklahoma (June 12, 2006) - - Adrian Berryhill, owner of Vision
Racing announced today that he has tapped local driver Greg Barnhart to drive the
No. 37 National Cash Lenders Chevrolet Monte Carlo for this Friday’s Hantz
Group 200 at Michigan International Speedway. Barnhart is also bringing
Panelite as an associate sponsor to Vision Racing for this week’s event.
It’s been a while since Vision Racing has been on the track in the ARCA
RE/MAX Series, but the team has taken the time off to regroup and prepare for the
first of two events at MIS (Michigan International Speedway) this season.
“We are very proud to announce Greg as our driver,?? said Berryhill. “We
feel that his credentials make him an asset to our operation and we’re looking
forward to putting our No. 37 machine up front, where it belongs.??
While Barnhart isn’t a familiar name on the ARCA RE/MAX Series tour, he
turned many heads in the season-opener at Daytona International Speedway. Driving
the family-owned No. 85 Panelite Ford Taurus, he unloaded strong posting
top-ten results in practice. Barnhart picked it up a notch in Pork pole
qualifying producing a lap good enough for fifth on the starting grid. At the start
of the race, Barnhart proved the strength of his machine running in the top
ten and staying in the lead draft for a majority of the race. The results did
not reflect how well the team did as Barnhart was collected in a crash when a
car in front of him spun.
“I am honored to have this opportunity to drive for Vision Racing,??
explained Barnhart, a native of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. “We are heading into
Michigan with high expectations. We have a great team and we’re going to prove it
this week. There’s no doubt that a slew of NASCAR teams will be competing in
this race, but even though some of these teams have more resources and may be
spending more money, there aren’t any that are putting more heart or effort
into this event.??
Barnhart has no prior starts at Michigan International Speedway but he
already loves the track. “We tested at Michigan International Speedway a few
weeks ago and we were pleased with the results. It’s a huge track and there is
plenty of room to race. The test session really helped us prepare for this race,
?? continued Barnhart. “We were able to dial this car in so that it stayed
consistent on long runs. The bigger horsepower may dominate on shorter runs,
but the balanced cars will have the advantage at the end.??
“We’ve put a lot of effort into this Chevrolet Monte Carlo and I’m
confident it’s going to be stout,?? Berryhill commented. “Wegner is with us this
weekend providing the horsepower under the hood and they have some of the best
engines in the ARCA garage. Even though we have a rookie driver, he is
perfect for our team, we believe in him and we’re looking forward to hopefully
clinching our second top-ten finish of the season.??
Following Michigan, Vision Racing will compete in selected ARCA RE/MAX
Series events while advancing with Barnhart to the NASCAR Busch Series. “Our
future is looking bright,?? added Berryhill. “We have some great opportunities on
the horizon including our Busch Series program, so things are really looking
up for Vision Racing.??
Vision Racing has marketing opportunities available for the No. 37 Chevrolet
Monte Carlo at selected events in the ARCA RE/MAX Series or at selected
