JOLIET, Ill. (June 11, 2006) -- Jason Line, driver of the KB Racing LLC,
Summit Racing Equipment Pontiac, advanced to the second round of the
NHRA CARQUEST Auto Parts Nationals before being turned back by Richie
Stevens, Jr.
With the air temperature 68 degrees and the track temperature 84
degrees, against V. Gaines in the opening round, Line recorded a
6.666-second pass to 6.668 seconds for Gaines, all of this on the Route
66 Raceway quarter-mile in Joliet, Ill. Line moves to the second round,
Gaines goes on to the next race in New Jersey.
In the second round, No. 1 qualifier Stevens gains a slight advantage at
the green light. Jason tries to run him down but runs out track. Line
runs 6.670 seconds. Stevens runs 6.681. Win light to Stevens by .0104
seconds.
Next up for Line and the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series is the second
of three back-to-back-to-back races, this time at Old Bridge Township
Raceway Park in Englishtown, N.J., when the 37th annual NHRA K&N Filters
Supernationals is contested June 15-18.
ESPN2 will air same-day television coverage of eliminations for the NHRA
CARQUEST Auto Parts Nationals from 5-7 p.m. tonight, Sunday, June 11.

/KB Racing LLC is owned by Las Vegas businessmen Ken Black and his son
Kenny Black. KB Racing LLC fields two Summit Racing Equipment Pro Stock
Pontiac GTOs, one driven by Greg Anderson and the other by Jason Line in
the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series. Anderson has won three consecutive
POWERade Pro Stock Championships (2003-2005). Line finished third in
the 2005 POWERade point standings and was honored with the 2004
Automobile Club of Southern California Road to the Future award,
presented to the most outstanding rookie in a professional category.
This year KB Racing LLC also began fielding a Top Fuel Dragster, managed
by Kalitta Motorsports, with rookie Top Fuel driver Hillary Will
handling the driving duties./
