Martin searching for lady luck

(Lincoln, NE 6/11/2006) The old saying goes rather be lucky than good, well
in Jason Martin's case no truer statement can be made. The Hitman has had a
streak of bad luck recently and is looking for that to turn with this week's
race at Powercom Park. Martin and the team were looking forward to getting
to Eagle, NE a place that he has logged many laps. Friday night saw the
young gun from Liberal, KS pilot the NOS Energy Drink/Mafia Motorsports #36
Maxim to 12th quick and a 3rd place finish in the heat and a transfer to the
"A" main. Getting off to a good start the Hitman was soon up to 10th and
battling for 9th when he dove low under the 17G and the brakes slipped
causing Martin to slide up and make contact with the 9th place running car.
The contact caused a spin and hard contact damaging the top wing but Martin
was able to make repairs and continue on to a 19th place finish.

Last night would see continued optimism and success early. Martin qualified
13th quick and put the NOS Energy Drink/Mafia Motorsports Maxim on the pole
of the 4th heat. From the drop of the green the Hitman would take the lead
and not look back. Now the team would prepare for a 40 lap feature event
featuring the best sprint car drivers in the country. Jason started 13th
and would battle in the top ten through the first 25 laps until lady luck
again would turn her back. Coming out of turn 4 the King Pin on the front
axle would break and relegate a strong run to a 20th place finish. While
the finishes have not been what the team would want, they keep their heads
up and have many positives to look at.

"Yeah we just need some luck." Said Martin. "Jason, Lester and Mike are
giving me great cars night in and night out, we just need a break here or
there and the finishes and even a win are there. It's one thing when your
just junk all night, but when you have a car capable of winning you want to
get all you can out of it. It's a long year and we are only a quarter of
the way through it, if we can keep qualifying well and running good in the
heats then we are putting ourselves in position for top 5's and wins.
That's really all you can do, but yeah I am ready for some luck too!"
