Winnebago Industries to the RV Rescue; Company Provides the Original Equipment Parts for a 1984 Winnebago Chieftain

FOREST CITY, Iowa--June 8, 2006--Winnebago Industries, Inc. came to the "RV Rescue" of a 1984 Winnebago Chieftain by providing over 60 original equipment parts for the 22-year old coach. Winnebago Industries, which manufactures the majority of the parts used in its motor homes, can facilitate part replacement on motor homes 5, 10, 15 or even as in this case 22 years old or older.

The 1984 Winnebago Chieftain, owned by Ed and Barb Tarconish, received a makeover courtesy of the RV Rescue at The Rally in Daytona, Florida. The Tarconish's now have the ultimate tailgating motor home, with a striking exterior featuring Penn State insignias.

"Winnebago Industries was pleased to participate in the RV Rescue and demonstrate to RVers and the RV industry our ability to provide replacement parts on new and older model motor homes," said Winnebago Industries' President Ed Barker. "By manufacturing our own parts, we are able to maintain strict quality standards, design parts to unique motor home needs and easily facilitate replacement parts for years to come. Not only were we able to meet all the part requests for this 22 year old coach, but on a constant basis, we are able to provide owners with their parts in a timely manner - whether their motor home is 3 or 30 years old - and anywhere in between."

Winnebago Industries parts service is the best in the industry with such features as an extensive parts numbering system that assigns a unique number to each part that aids in the recall of those parts, as well as the TripSaver program that guarantees in-stock warranty parts will be shipped directly to the dealer within 24 hours so the customer is back on the road sooner.

Winnebago Industries parts superiority in the RV industry is verified with the annual Recreation Vehicle Dealer Association (RVDA) Dealer Satisfaction Index (DSI). The DSI asks dealers to rate manufacturers in sales, product, management, and service/warranty/support. Winnebago Industries has repeatedly been recognized in this survey as the number one RV manufacturer for quality parts ordering, tracking and delivery.

"Winnebago Industries has historically been rated very high in the parts category - distancing itself from other RV manufacturers," said Barker. "Parts availability and timeliness in getting those parts to dealers, and ultimately our owners, is crucial in maintaining customer satisfaction and loyalty."

"By manufacturing the majority of their parts and having a top-notch parts database, Winnebago Industries allows us to respond to our customer's needs quickly," said Deb Gosney, parts manager at McClain's RV SuperStore in Oklahoma City, OK. "We appreciate that we can get large items, like holding tanks, on a 1986 or 2006 coach without a problem, and can readily check the availability of parts as well."

You can see the transformation of the 1984 Winnebago Chieftain on RVToday on the Outdoor Life Network. The first makeover show will air June 12-June 22, with the second part airing June 25-July 6.
