Toreador Retains Grant Thornton as Independent Auditors

DALLAS--June 7, 2006--Toreador Resources Corporation announced today that the Audit Committee has engaged Grant Thornton LLP as its new independent registered public accounting firm. Grant Thornton succeeds Hein and Associates, LLP. Hein completed their engagement on May 15, 2006 after completion of the review of the unaudited financial statements and Form 10-Q filing for the period ending March 31, 2006, as disclosed in an 8-K filing on May 19, 2006 and 8-K/A filed on May 26, 2006.
