Cognex Surpasses a Quarter of a Billion Dollars in Cumulative Bookings for In-Sight

NATICK, Mass.--June 7, 2006--Cognex Corporation , the world's leading supplier of machine vision sensors and systems, announced today that it has surpassed $250,000,000 in cumulative bookings for its In-Sight(R) vision sensor. In-Sight is the world's only vision sensor that combines ease-of-use, a rugged and compact design with the highest possible level of performance.

"Six years after shipping our first In-Sight vision sensor, we continue to see significant yearly growth in bookings and market penetration," said Dr. Robert J. Shillman, Chairman and CEO of Cognex. "In fact, In-Sight has experienced an average revenue growth rate of 45% per year since its introduction in 2000, and its success has been a key factor in the growth of Cognex's factory automation business."

Dr. Shillman continued, "In order to meet their customers' demands for high quality and low cost products, manufacturers around the world are increasingly relying on machine vision sensors, and the one that is most often specified is In-Sight. We expect that the benefits that In-Sight provides will help drive demand for even greater reliance on Cognex machine vision products in the future."
