INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (June 5, 2006) – 2003 NHRA World Champion Tony Pedregon
and his Q Power Nitro Funny Car Team head to Route 66 Raceway in Joliet,
Ill., this weekend for the CARQUEST Auto Parts NHRA Nationals, the 10th of
23 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series events in 2006. Pedregon is now 5th in
points after recent wins in Atlanta and Columbus, along with a semi-final
round appearance last weekend in Topeka.

“We’re very excited to go to Chicago with the momentum we’ve built up over
the past month – we’re coming off of two wins in the last three races, along
with a semi-final finish,” Pedregon said of his spring Chicago visit. “I
like the fact we’re going back to one of the premier facilities we race at.
I think that when the conditions are good, Route 66 Raceway is one of the
fastest tracks on the circuit. The track really doesn’t get bad when the
conditions are warm. We are excited about resuming racing after a weekend
off, and we’ll try to continue the momentum and consistency we’ve maintained
over the past few races.”

The Q Power team will also be making a couple appearances in the Chicago
area for GREAT STUFF and Snap-on. The Q Power team will be visiting with
employees at the GREAT STUFF manufacturing plant in Wilmington, IL on
Wednesday and making an appearance at Snap-on headquarters in Kenosha, Wis.
on the Monday following the race. “We’re happy to be back in the Chicago
area because that is close to our sponsors, GREAT STUFF and Snap-on,” said
Pedregon. “One thing is certain: There are only a few things you really
need in life – food, water, oil and tools, and we know we’ve got the best
oil and tools for our team.”

Take one part state-of-the-art stadium, add a world-class quarter-mile and a
splash of great weather, and you have the recipe for record-breaking
performances. Route 66 Raceway, which opened in 1998, has regularly been the
site not only of astounding performances, but also of national-record runs
and career-best performances by racers in all classes.

How to Get There: The track is approximately 30 miles south of Chicago on
Route 53 (Historic Route 66), three miles south of Interstate 80 in Joliet.
From points north, take I-55 south to I-80 east to Route 53/Chicago Street
(Exit 132) and proceed south to the track. From points south, take I-55
north to River Road, then proceed east to Route 53 north to the track. From
points east and west, take I-80 to Exit 132 (Route 53) and follow Route 53
south to the track.

After conquering the quarter-mile at Route 66 Raceway next weekend, the NHRA
warriors head to Englishtown and the K&N Filters Super Nationals at Old
Bridge Township Raceway Park on June 16-18. Check your local ESPN2 listings
for broadcast times and event coverage.
