Troy Coughlin looks to shine at company's title event (NMCA/JEG'S)

Troy Coughlin looks to shine at company's title event

COLUMBUS, Ohio (June 2) -- Decorated drag racer Troy Coughlin has the
perfect place to put his stamp on the NMCA's Pro Street category -- this weekend's
second annual Jeg's NMCA Hot Rod & Muscle Car Nationals at historic National
Trail Raceway.

Not only is the event in Coughlin's back yard, but it's sponsored by the
company he co-owns with his racing brothers Jeg Jr., Mike, and John Coughlin.
Jeg's Mail Order is based in Delaware, just a short drive from National Trail
Raceway.

Although Coughlin is solidly in the top-10 of the Denso Spark Plugs Pro
Street category after two of seven events on the 2006 schedule, he knows his
current sixth-place perch should be substantially higher. His goal for this
weekend is to fully realize the capabilities of his 6.5-second, 215-mph '04 JEG'S
Mail Order Chevrolet Cavalier.

"This car is fully capable of winning," Coughlin said. "We have a fantastic
crew and they've given me an extremely competitive and reliable car all
season. I have red-lighted away a couple of golden chances to advance in the first
two races of the season so we've slowed the car down just a touch to keep it
from reacting too quickly at the line.

"We'll see how the changes translate to the racetrack. We're very optimistic
that we've corrected our little problems and once again we are expecting a
big weekend."

A pedigreed racer, Coughlin is always considered a favorite at any race he
enters. This weekend he'll take that status to an extreme as 100's of Jeg's
employees make the drive over from the company headquarters to cheer their man
on in competition.

"It'll be exciting to have a home race," Coughlin said. "My entire family
will be here and I'm sure the Jeg's Mail Order suite will be packed like it
always is when we have a race here. We value our employees a great deal and we
love to have opportunities like this to show them a good time away from the
plant.

"The ultimate good time will come on Sunday if we can punch one through for
a win. That's the goal and we'll be working extremely hard to get that done.
It's time."
