Metaldyne Named Finalist for 2006 Techpoint Mira Award
Largest and most prestigious technology awards in the state recognize contributions to the growth of Indiana's economy
PLYMOUTH, Mich., June 2 -- Metaldyne announced today it was named a finalist in the 2006 Techpoint Mira Awards' Advanced Manufacturing category.
Companies in the Advanced Manufacturing category were judged on several key considerations including utilization of advanced technology to enhance business, positive financial performance, sustainability, impact on the industry and market, and accomplishments as an outstanding corporate citizen.
According to Techpoint, these companies serve as model organizations from which others can learn and further enhance Indiana's position as a recognized technology leader.
"Metaldyne is honored to be recognized as a technology leader in the State of Indiana," said Tim Leuliette, Metaldyne chairman, president and CEO. "This recognition underscores Metaldyne's vision of delivering value solutions to customers in the engine, driveline and chassis markets of the global automotive industry through technical and manufacturing excellence."
A capacity crowd including leaders of technology businesses, government and universities gathered recently at the Indiana Roof Ballroom to honor the best and brightest contributors to Indiana's technology-related economy.
"The Mira Awards recognize those companies, organizations, and individuals that have made significant -- indeed breakthrough -- contributions to technology in Indiana," said Cameron Carter, president and CEO of Techpoint. "Mira nominees, such as Metaldyne, represent the future of economic growth for our state through their signal achievements."
