New Life Community Development Corporation Kicks off Summer 2006 with Its Biggest Free Health Fair Schedule

NEW YORK--June 1, 2006--New Life Community Development Corporation (NLCDC) announced today the summer 2006 Schedule of FREE Health Outreaches. The six free events will provide testing and screening for high blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, eyesight and general health counseling.

The NLCDC volunteer medical team continues its summer schedule which began six years ago. As part of the mission to establish "Free" community health fairs, the NLCDC has held 18 health fairs and served 1,600 of the most vulnerable and marginalized individuals from 46 different countries of origin. In 2006, this campaign has been broadened in order to reach more people.

"The Health Center is the centerpiece of the NLCDC. Today it has four creative and effective programs in place that are making a difference and making it a little bit easier to live in this great city of ours," said Pastor Peter Scazzero, New Life Fellowship Senior Pastor.

The NLCDC launched a number of successful programs in 2005: the ESL language training which has provided English language instruction to over one hundred individuals; the Food Pantry is providing food to over 150 families each month; and the Beats 'n' Blessings youth outreach has expanded significantly reaching hundreds of inner-city youth through faith and fun providing training in music production, mentoring and teaching youth to use their musical talents inspire the next generation. In 2005, the NLCDC also sponsored its first legal immigration fair to provide immigration information.

The Health Center is open every Tuesday 6-8:30PM and Saturday 10AM-1PM (except Holidays).
