Tim Sauter Ready for Monster Mile

McGill Motorsports team ready to hit the concrete

Last Saturday’s race at Charlotte was the first of sixteen straight
weeks of racing without a weekend off for the NASCAR Busch Series.
Without a break in the schedule for the next three months, the McGill
Motorsports team and driver Tim Sauter are preparing for the long
“Summer Stretch” which makes up nearly half of the NBS schedule.

After finishing in twenty-seventh place last week at the Lowes Motor
Speedway Tim Sauter feels that his Lester Buildings sponsored McGill
Motorsports team has begun to turn it’s early season tough luck
around. “Those three DNF’s in the first ten races really put us
behind. Behind in the points race, behind getting cars ready and
behind in our on track performance. I would have loved a better
finish at Charlotte, but we came out without a scratch and with some
fine-tuning I think we can really get that racecar to run better each
time out. It’s really a finish for this team to build upon,”
explained Sauter.

Heading into this Saturday afternoon’s StonebridgeRacing.com 200 at
Dover International Speedway, the Wisconsin driver sits 26th in
NASCAR Busch Series points. “We made some small gains in the points
last week and I know this team can do even better the next couple
races,” Sauter said. “Ricky (Crew Chief Ricky Pearson) has hired a
couple of good guys recently and the team has made some huge progress
at getting caught up in the shop. I feel like the cars will be ready
when we get to the track and we can work on fine-tuning them during
practice each week and finding a little extra speed. We really do
have some positive things going on, I’m excited and ready for the
month of June.”

Dover is the first of two straight weeks of racing on concrete, both
the Dover track this week and next week’s race at Nashville are on
the hard white surface. Tim Sauter likes racing on concrete. “You can
really feel the grip in the corner at both of those tracks. If your
car is cutting through the center of the corner, you can really get a
jump down the straights. We had a good car at Nashville earlier in
the year before we got in that wreck. I think we’ll be even better
going back.”

• The StonebridgeRacing.com 200 will be Tim’s 97th start in the NBS
and 102nd career NASCAR start.

• All three Sauter brothers will be attempting this weekends
StonebridgeRacing.com 200.

• This weekend’s race will be the fifth time Tim has competed at
Dover in the NBS. Best Finish: 8th on September 21st, 2002 driving
the AP Performance Chevy.

Tim’s thoughts on the Dover International Speedway: “This is a tough
little track to get around, but I’ve had some good runs here and I
feel like I may have figured this place out a little bit. It looks
like we only have 43 entries so I’m looking forward to this weekend
and getting a good finish for the McGill team and Lester Buildings.”

• This Saturday’s race will be the third time McGill Motorsports has
competed at Dover in the NBS. Best Finish: 22nd on June 4th, 2005
with Stanton Barrett driving and duplicated by T.J. Bell on September
24th, 2005.

McGill Motorsports will run the Lester Buildings banner for fifteen
of the remaining races on the 2006 Busch Series schedule. The team is
actively seeking primary sponsorship for the five of the remaining
events. Contact John McGill at 440-914-4206 or visit
