ANN ARBOR, Mich., May 30, 2006 -- ProQuest Company announced today that ExploreLearning.com is a winner of a Software and Information Industry Association's (SIIA) Codie Award. ExploreLearning won the software and information industry's highest honor for the "Best Instructional Solution: Science."

ExploreLearning offers interactive online simulations that drive the inquiry process and conceptual understanding of math and science in grades 6-12. ExploreLearning helps students build lasting knowledge of complex mathematical and scientific principles through hands-on exploration, providing a powerful enhancement to the way teachers teach and students learn.

ExploreLearning brings research-based instructional methods to the classroom. Their simulations, called Gizmos(TM), build on scientific research showing computer-based manipulatives to be powerful tools for student success. Gizmos are designed as supplemental curricula, correlated to state and national standards and to most leading textbooks.

ExploreLearning Gizmos cover numerous areas of study in science including earth and space science, life science, physical science, biology, chemistry, and physics. New Gizmos are added throughout the year to the current collection of more than 400 simulations. Since December 2005, 40 new science Gizmos, with Exploration Guides and assessments, have been developed, including:

  *  Temperature and Particle Motion
  *  Phase Changes
