OSRAM Showcases Display Systems Innovations at SID 2006; May 30, 2006

--At the 2006 Society for Information Display (SID) International Symposium, OSRAM's Opto Semiconductors and SYLVANIA divisions will showcase innovations in LED and OLED display systems technology. There will be exhibits showing the use of LEDs in LCD backlighting, ranging from a 15.4" notebook to a whopping 102" display. SID is the premier international gathering of scientists, engineers and manufacturers in the electronic-display industry.

DISPLAY: At Booth #342, OSRAM demonstrations will include:

        --  Golden DRAGON(R) ARGUS(R) -- provides homogenous
            backlighting and large display areas with perfect color

        --  The company's largest and longer-life OLED Pictiva(TM)
            solution - designed as a viable alternative to
            conventional LCD screens. The offering ranges from
            0.8-inch, 96x16 dot to 3.3-inch, 288x48 dot OLED display
            modules.

        --  Infrared (IR) LED Sensors -- being utilized as detectors,
            emitters and optical sensors for applications, including
            TV remote controls and tilt sensing and ambient light
            sensing for cell phones with cameras.
