CRA VISITS VENTURA

CRA VISITS VENTURA THIS SATURDAY
JONES GETS 1ST USAC/CRA WIN IN "SALUTE TO INDY"

Damion Gardner of Concord, Calif. leads the USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series to the Ventura (Calif.) Raceway this Saturday night and will aim for his 11th fast qualifying effort in 12 tries this season!

Gardner finished fourth behind Tony Jones in last Saturday night's "Salute to Indy" 40-lapper at the Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway and Gardner takes a 34-point lead over Cory Kruseman into this Saturday's race. Kruseman was third last Saturday.

Jones, of Orange, Calif., led the final 28 laps after passing Mike Spencer on lap 13 in his La Villa Restaurant/Alexander Trucking Stinger/RC. Spencer finished second ahead of Kruseman, Rickie Gaunt and Mike Kirby.

In true "Indy" tradition Jones climbed the track fence, wore a winner's wreath and sipped milk following his win. The crowd on hand was also treated to "Back Home Again in Indiana" before the start.

Jones' last Perris victory was followed by a victory at Ventura so he is looking forward to this Saturday night's program.
