MADERA UP NEXT FOR CALIFORNIA PAVEMENT FOCUS CARS; GRAY EARNS FIRST DIRT

INDIANAPOLIS – Chris Veach of Livermore, Calif. leads USAC’s California Ford
Focus Pavement Midget Car Series division Saturday to Madera Speedway in
California for the series’ first visit to the track this season.

Veach, the winner of the initial race of the Altamont Raceway Park in Tracy,
Calif., is the series point leader and looks to continue a strong showing in
California Focus Midgets after a fifth-place finish Saturday at Ventura
Raceway in California, the sixth round in the Dirt series.

Thomas Gray won his first career USAC Focus race at Ventura, leading all 20
laps of the event to beat Bobby Micnowicz, Keith Janca and Keith Iaia.
Michnowicz extended his point lead to 20 markers over Janca.

The next event on the Dirt schedule is June 10.
