USAC Release - OSBORNE CLAIMS POINT LEAD AFTER ABOLD SEEKONK
WIN; TEAMS HEAD TO CHEMUNG SATURDAY
INDIANAPOLIS – Ryan Osborne of Milford, N.J. overtook Nick Wean of the same
town Saturday at Seekonk (Mass.) Speedway, in a USAC Northeast Ford Focus
Midget Car Series race won by Jeff Abold, and Osborne will be among the
favorites to win or at least try to expand his point lead when teams and
drivers head west to Chemung Speedrome in New York.
Abold led the final nine laps of the Seekonk race, besting Osborne, Sean
Carman, Ryan Smith and Shawn Gosselin. Wean slipped to sixth in points after
finishing last in the 19-car field.
Osborne, who leads Smith by five points, and Stephanie Stevens led the race
prior to Abold taking over. Abold and Wean won eight-lap heats.
This Saturday’s race at Chemung will be the second Northeast Focus race.
Wean won the only previous event there last July.
