Anderson advances to semifinals
Maintains point lead

TOPEKA, Kan. (May 28, 2006) - Greg Anderson drove his KB Racing LLC,
Summit Racing Equipment Pro Stock Pontiac to a semifinal finish at this
weekend's 18th annual NHRA O'Reilly Summer Nationals at HPT - Heartland
Park Topeka.

In the opening round, with a .027-second advantage, Anderson won on a
holeshot over Mike Edwards. It was a 6.832-second pass for Anderson,
while Edwards recorded a 6.814.

Against Warren Johnson in the quarterfinals, Anderson was out first and
led the entire length of the HPT quarter-mile running an elapsed time of
6.826 seconds.

Moving to the semifinals Anderson was matched against the other member
of the Johnson family - Kurt. Johnson was out first at the green and
rode that advantage to the win light over Anderson.

"Once again, I got beat on a holeshot. As I said in Columbus, "There is
no excuse for that,'" recounted Anderson. "We had the car going in the
right direction, even with the wind and heat. I think that we had a
shot at the finals but we'll never know. When we get to Chicago, I need
to be at the top of my driving game and this Summit Racing Pontiac needs
to be quick and fast with both the race and the King Demon Crown on the
line there here. There's a lot of money to be won."

The good news from Topeka is that Anderson maintains his lead in the
NHRA POWERade Pro Stock point standings.

After a short break, next up for Anderson and his KB Racing LLC/Summit
Racing Equipment Pro Stock Pontiac GTO is the NHRA CARQUEST Auto Parts
Nationals, which will be held June 8-11 at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet,
Ill., near Chicago.

ESPN2 will air three hours of same-day television coverage of
eliminations from the NHRA O'Reilly Summer Nationals at 10 p.m. this
evening, May 28. The elimination show repeats early Tuesday morning
(May 30) from 3-5 a.m. Television times are Eastern Time (ET) and
subject to change at anytime. Check local listings.
