-FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Snelbaker, McCann and Gutshall Add Their Names to the 2006 Feature
Winners List at SSP on Friday Night

Newberrytown, PA (May 26, 2006) – It was a night of new faces in victory
lane on Friday night at the Susuquehanna Speedway Park. Smokey Snelbaker won in
the 20-lap Trail Motors Super Sportsman event with Scott McCann Jr. winning
the 20-lap Late Model event. Bob Gutshall Jr. picked up the 20-lap Street
Stock feature event. Timothy Watson won his second straight Mini Van race.

Smokey Snelbaker may be 68 years old and have some gray hair, but that has
not slowed down the Dover, Pennsylvania pilot as he took over the lead from
Dave Socks on lap 4 of the Trail Motors Super Sportsman feature. The next four
spots found new faces breaking into the top five spots for the 2006 season.
Jason Fry picked up his first top five finish of the season by trailing
Snelbaker at the line to claim the second spot. Scott Dellingner, Bobby
Hockenberry and Dave Socks battled furiously for the entire event with many passes
among themselves. At the end it was Dellingner, Hockenberry and Socks third
through fifth respectively. Snelbaker, Fry and Dellingner won the three
qualifying heat races as well.
In Late Model action, Charlie Potts jumped out to the lead from his outside
front row starting position. Scott McCann Jr. started just behind Potts in
the fourth position and overtook Potts on the seventh lap of the 20-lap
event. McCann led the remaining thirteen circuits to pick up his first win of the
2006 SSP season. Potts came across the line second with Carl Billet
finishing third. Billet came through the traffic from his twelfth place staring
spot. John Ebersole and Sterling Kinard rounded out the top five. Larry Baer,
Randy Christine Jr and Potts won the heat races and Gene Wrightstone won the
consolation event.
Bob Gutshall Jr. became the fifth different winner in as many races in the
highly competitive Street Stock Division. In an event where any of the 24
drivers can win the feature race, Gutshall started on the pole and never looked
back as he led all 20 laps. Chad Smith continues to impress many people as
he followed Gutshall to finish second. 2005 SSP Street Stock champion, Wes
Alleman, continues to look for his first SSP feature win and had to settle for
third. Sam Leonard Jr. and Brian Hauenstein finished fourth and fifth.
Heat winners were 2006 point leader Kory Sites, Chad Millikin and Gutshall.
In the York Haven Auto Sales Super Oval Mini Van race, Scott Keller jumped
out to the early lead in the 10-lap event until Timothy Watson overtook him on
the seventh lap. Watson led the final three laps to pick up his second
straight Mini Van feature event. Keller finished second with Jeff Svendsen,
Sherry Kitner and Butch Richcreek rounding out the top five.
