Anderson qualifies No. 4 at HPT

TOPEKA, Kan. (May 27, 2006) - After the cool weather at the last event
in Columbus, Ohio, Greg Anderson, driver of the KB Racing-owned, Summit
Racing Equipment-backed Pontiac GTO, fought the hot temperatures at the
this weekend's 18th annual NHRA O'Reilly Summer Nationals at HPT -
Heartland Park Topeka.

Running like a bracket car, Anderson, who has earned five No. 1s thus
far this year, qualified No. 4, covering the HPT track in 6.820
seconds. The three-time and reigning Pro Stock champion recorded
elapsed times of 6.820 seconds, 6.825 seconds, 6.828 seconds, and 6.863
seconds in his four qualifying sessions.

"Eliminations will be just like qualifying," said Anderson. "Everybody
is really, really battling the race track. It's all the first 60-foot
of this race track, after that you can't complain with what we've got
out there. We just have not been able to make that nice smooth run out
of low gear. We're all in the same boat. We're all trying to figure it
out. We need to be the first to get there.

"We'll continue searching and try to get the car smoothed out in those
first 60-feet. If we do, then we can make really smooth runs. We can
make good runs, run fast and hopefully win the race."

The Minnesota-native, North Carolina-transplant now turns his attention
to tomorrow's eliminations when he squares off against Mike Edwards in
the opening round. Edwards qualified in the 13th position with a pass
of 6.848 seconds.

Anderson, behind the wheel of the KB Racing LLC/Summit Racing Equipment
Pro Stock Pontiac GTO, begins his quest for the O'Reilly Summer
Nationals Pro Stock title tomorrow, May 28, with eliminations for all
classes beginning at 11 a.m. All times are local Topeka time (CT) and
subject to change at anytime.
