Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship has busy week leading up to round two

TORONTO, ONTARIO – Round two of the Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship
presented by Toronto Star Wheels will be held at Cameron Motorsports Park,
in Hamilton this weekend. It will end a busy week for the series as on
Tuesday, in Barrie, Ontario the series held a press conference to preview
the Barrie event.
At that press conference, it was announced that three drivers will be
heading to the Discovery Channel’s ‘Star Racer” program, directly from the
Barrie event, which is round three of the series.
Now the focus has switched to the upcoming weekend, and many of the drivers
are looking forward to the Hamilton event, including Kyle Marcelli, who won
the first Formula Senior race of the year. “I think we have a good shot at
Hamilton to continue our success so far,” Marcelli said. “It will be tough,
but we have the right package to get the job done.”
Hamilton is well known for putting on a first class event, and with
favorable weather conditions predicted; the turnout – both teams and fans –
should be good this weekend.
Hamilton is also the ‘home’ of the new F1-K class, and it is expected that
entries into the three F1-K classes should grow considerably.
Friday is a practice day for all classes, and Saturday classes will be
Rotax Max Senior – part of the Rotax Max Challenge, that sends Canadian
drivers to the 2006 World Finals in Portugal – Canada Junior Heavy, F1-K
Cadet, World Formula Junior, Canada Senior and F1-K Junior.
Sunday’s schedule will feature the headline class, Formula Senior, along
with Canada Junior Light, F1-K Senior, Rotax Max Junior – also part of the
Rotax Max Challenge – and World Formula Senior.

Quick news; - Oldtimers race on for Sunday
One of the most eagerly anticipated races of the year is the 2nd Annual
Oldtimers race, which will go at lunchtime on Sunday. Notable names from
the past, and a few surprise drivers are expected to take part this year.
Last year’s winner, Tony Launi – father of Sunoco Team Ultra 94 2004
Champion, Frank Launi – is expected to try to defend his title.
