BimmerWorld Fights Through A Tough Weekend Finishing Just Outside The
Top 10

Through wind, rain, mud and a new track surface, the BimmerWorld team
battled through it all this weekend to deliver BMW its highest
finishing position in the SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge
Touring Car race at Mid-Ohio. James Clay, driving the #36 BimmerWorld
Perfect Friction BMW 325i lead the BimmerWorld team, finishing 11th.

"While I was glad to see we had the highest finishing BMW this
weekend," noted BimmerWorld owner, James Clay, "I honestly was hoping
for more. This was a challenging weekend, to say the least. With the
weather and the resulting paddock conditions, our crew worked very
hard fighting the rain and mud, as well as the standard tuning tasks."

"I was pleased with the job Seth [Thomas] did in the new E90 car,"
Clay added. "I think the foundation is there for a fantastic
performer. I welcome Sonoma [Infineon Raceway], which is
traditionally a BMW track, as the next stop on the SPEED World
Challenge tour!"

Seth Thomas took charge of sorting out the team's new E90 car that
debuted at this weekend's event. Seth qualified the #38 BimmerWorld
Perfect Friction BMW 325i 15th and finished 15th.

"The BimmerWorld E90 325 is a great racecar," remarked Thomas. "The
weather didn't help show its true potential though. We chose not to
take the car out for wet sessions, so we lost valuable setup time.
Regardless, I think we had the car pretty close by race time."

"The Performance Friction Brakes and Sunbelt motor package proved to
be ready to race the first weekend out," added Seth. "To not have any
major problems the first weekend on track says a lot about the
BimmerWorld crew and how well they prepare the cars."

"The race left me anxiously awaiting the next round at Infineon,"
Seth concluded.

David Scott, in his SPEED World Challenge debut brought home the #39
BimmerWorld Perfect Friction BMW 325i in 29th.

"My first World Challenge weekend was a real treat," said a jubilant
Scott. "The team gave me a great car, and it got better all weekend.
And, the Performance Friction brakes are probably the best race brake
package I have ever experienced. While the weather was often less
than cooperative, I think Mid-Ohio did a great job with the off-
season resurfacing. Grip was good and got better throughout the
weekend."

"I had an excellent launch in my first-ever standing start,"
continued Scott, "and I made a number of passes by the entry to the
Keyhole. Unfortunately, I got bumped and spun off track into the
Keyhole's gravel, and had to play catch-up to the entire field. This
would end up being a common theme, as I got bumped and spun off track
two more times. So, 29th was a bit disappointing, especially
considering how stellar the car and BimmerWorld crew performed."

Sunday's race will be broadcast on SPEED Channel Saturday, May 27 at
8 p.m. (EDT). The fourth round of the 2006 SCCA SPEED Touring Car
Championship is scheduled for June 23-25, at Infineon Raceway.
