TOPEKA, Kan. (May 24, 2006) - Mineral Wells, Texas, is known as "The
Gateway to North Texas Hill Country." SCCA ProSolo competitors Billy
Brooks, of Park City, Utah, and Meredith Brown, of Los Alamos, N.M.,
burst through the gate as each won their first Challenge titles at the
Tire Rack(r) SCCA ProSolo National Series event at the Mineral Wells
Airport this weekend.

After smoking through the Street Touring(r) X competition, winning his
class by 1.316 seconds over Brian Fitzpatrick, of McKinney, Texas, in
the Crazy Monkey Racing 2003 Subaru Impreza WRX, Brooks moved on to the
Hawk Performance Super Challenge, where he defeated A Stock winner Bob
Klingler, of Colorado Springs, Colo. Greg Hahn, of Boca Raton, Fla.,

Before capturing her first Ladies Challenge crown by topping Patty
Tunnell, of Superior, Colo., and Beth McClure-Strelnieks, of Austin,
Texas, who were second and third, respectively, Brown emerged victorious
from a vicious Ladies 1 lineup that featured years of Tire Rack SCCA
Solo National Championship experience.

In her Isotope Wheels/Automotive Professionals 1993 Toyota MR2, Brown
beat out McClure-Strelnieks' Jungle Cat Racing/lonestar.com 2005 Mini
Cooper S. Sierra Pedroza, of Round Rock, Texas, was third, co-driving
with McClure-Strelnieks.

In other classes, Matthew Braun, of Northville, Mich., earned his
second-straight ProSolo class victory, following up his C Stock win last
round in Atwater, Calif., with a Super Stock victory at Mineral Wells.
Braun, in his PowerPlug 2005 Lotus Elise, threw the hammer down early,
posting the class' best time of the weekend (31.729 seconds) on his
first run. That run propelled him to the 1.275-sec. win over Alex Wan,
of Calabasas, Calif., who was second in his 2005 Porsche 911 GT3,
0.149-sec. ahead of third-place Adam Breakey, of Fuquay Varina, N.C.

Before losing out to Brooks in the Super Challenge final, Klingler
overcame a mid-weekend DNF in the BK Racing 2004 Honda S2000 to take
first place in A Stock, 0.200-sec. in front of Andy Basham, of New
Albany, Ohio. Before earning the bronze in the Super Challenge, Hahn,
in his Team Peculiar 2004 S2000, took his first third of the weekend in
AS, finishing 0.533-sec. off of Basham's pace.

Andy Hollis, of Austin, took his second Street Touring S2 win of 2006,
keeping his streak of top-two finishes intact. The streak now stands at
four. Hollis, in his Soulspeed/ART/GRM 1992 Mazda Miata beat out the
Kumho/Redline/Carbotech 1989 Honda CRX Si driven by Robert Seelig, of
Edmond, Okla., by 1.204 seconds. Seelig's wife, Dr. Michelle Seelig,
finished third, co-driving the couple's CRX.

Topeka, Kan., was second in his knapperformance 2004 Birel CR32SP, and

action, Tunnell took the Ladies 2 class in her CR Racing/BimmerHaus 1995
BMW M3. Debbie Kerswill, of Reno, Nev., was a solid second in her Team
RX-8 2005 Mazda RX-8, ahead of current D Stock Ladies National Champion
