ERIC LUZINSKI NAMED WD-40 NHRA SPORT COMPACT CREW CHIEF OF THE RACE FOR THE NORTHEAST NHRA SPORT COMPACT NATIONALS

GLENDORA, Calif. – Eric Luzinski, crew chief for the Titan Motorsports Scion tC of Brad Personett (Pro RWD), has been named the WD-40 NHRA Sport Compact Crew Chief of the Race for the Northeast NHRA Sport Compact Nationals in Atco, N.J.

Luzinski, who has been given the nickname “Easy” for his easy going-manner, earned the award for setting up Personett’s car for his record breaking runs. The Scion ran a time of 6.44 seconds at 220.15 mph in qualifying. No other sport compact car had ever attained those numbers in competition. During eliminations, Personett was able to back up his speed for a national record, and he set a national time record of 6.51 seconds.

“It’s real neat to win the award,” said Luzinski. “It’s great to have WD-40 involved. Everybody is glad to be involved with the car. We just got to the point of knowing the track with the evaluation we had. Also, we had done some things to the car and got it to the point where it could run.”

By winning the WD-40 NHRA Sport Compact Crew Chief of the Race award, Luzinski, will be honored at the opening ceremonies, Sunday, June 10 in Morrison, Colo., at the Mountain Madness NHRA Sport Compact Nationals at Bandimere Speedway.

“I use WD-40 for so many things,” continued Luzinski. “It is not just about the car. WD-40 goes above and beyond the car. It’s all the parts and pieces on the trucks, trailers, and the car. If I had to narrow it down to one thing that I use it for is when things get stuck WD-40 gets them unstuck.”

At each race stop for the NHRA Xplôd Sport Compact Racing Series the WD-40 Company will offer an award to recognize the NHRA Sport Compact Crew Chief of the Race. The winning Crew Chief of the Race will earn $250, a plaque, and will receive recognition during the opening ceremonies at each NHRA Sport Compact Series event and on NHRAsportcompact.com.
