Great American School Buses Return to SSP on Thursday; Trail Motors Super
Sportsman and Late Models Scheduled on Friday
NEWBERRYTOWN, PA (May 23, 2006) – The Great American School Buses return to
the Susquehanna Speedway Park on Thursday night, May 25 along with the Sprint
Cars, Xtreme Stock Cars and Legends Cars. At 6:30 p.m. there will also
be school bus rides around the track for everyone in attendance. Boarding
will take place at the flagstand on the frontstretch of the track.
The Trail Motors Super Sportsman will return on Friday, May 26 along with th
e Late Models and Street Stocks. There will also be a York Haven Auto Sales
Mini Van Super Oval Race. The Mini Van Lazy Dog race has been cancelled.
The “Salute to the Armed Forces�?? Thrill show scheduled for Saturday, May 27
which included the Smashmasters Demolition Derbies, Roll Over Contest, Tuff
Trucks, Fireworks and more has been cancelled.
Last week’s racing action found many new faces in victory lane. In Sprint
Car action on Thursday night, Selinsgrove’s Blaine Heimbach picked up his
first career SSP Victory over Chad Layton, Greg Hodnett, Fred Rahmer and Cory
Haas. Larry Hughes Jr. continued his winning ways in the Xtreme Stocks and Bob
Bender Jr. won the Rookie Rumble main event.
On Friday night, Steve Fannasy also picked up his first career victory in
the Trail Motors Super Sportsman feature with Mike Spangler winning the 20-lap
Late Model event. Bill Brown Jr. picked up the 15-lap Classic Car feature
event. Timothy Watson won the first ever Speedway Auto Sales Mini Van Toll
Booth race.
Gates will open for both the pit area and grandstands at 5:00 p.m on
Thursdays and Fridays. Warmups begin at 7:00 p.m. with racing action beginning
at 7:30 p.m. Race fans can continue to expect a fast paced, action packed 2
½ to 3 hour program each and every night.
Regular General Admission Grandstand ticket prices for Thursday nights will
be Adults (18 & older) $14.00; Teens (13-17) $10.00; Children (12 & under)
are free. Pit pass prices are $22.00 with a reduced price of $20.00 for all
pit competitor license holders. Prices will be slightly higher for special
events.

SSP will continue its Repeat Fan Discount in 2006 in which there will be a
$2.00 discount for each person with a ticket stub from races during the
previous 2 events completed only. However, as a token of its appreciation to the
fans, SSP is offering any fan with a ticket stub from May 18 or May 19, a
$2.00 discount to the races on May 25 or 26 only. Returning fans are
encouraged to write their name, address and phone number on the back of the stub to be
entered into special drawings during the season for great prizes. Last
season, 10 winners were drawn from the repeat fans and each winner received $30
in SSP Gift Certificates for tickets or concessions. The discount is not
valid for pit pass purchases.
The Susquehanna Speedway Park is located off I-83 to exit 32, then 1.4 miles
NW on SR382 to York Road, then 1.3 miles south. For more information,

SSP Pit Notes
- Raceceivers Required For Late Models – The One-Way Radio called
Raceceiver will be mandatory for all Late Model Drivers on Friday, June 2. It will be
optional for the Friday, May 26 event. Raceceivers are available for
purchase from Miller’s Racing Parts in Camp Hill, PA.
- The National Sprint Tour visits SSP on Thursday, June 8, Friday, June 9
and Thursday, August 3. Raindates will be announced for all events if needed.
General admission main grandstand tickets will be $30.00 each for each
night of racing. There will be a limited number of 3,000 tickets available for
advance purchase for the main grandstand area only. There will also be a limit
of 400 children tickets (ages 6-12) available for $12.00 each. Children
ages 5 and under will be admitted free. Once the tickets are sold, there will
be no more tickets offered for the main grandstand area and pit passes may
then be purchased to see the event.
All seating will be on a first-come, first-serve basis with the exception of
the annual reserved seats. All advance ticket purchasers will be permitted
to enter the grandstands one hour prior to the sale of grandstand tickets on
raceday in order to pick their seats. Cooler size limits will be strictly
enforced.
NST tickets may also be purchased now by sending a check or money order for
the amount of tickets ordered along with a $4.00 fee per total order to cover

- Dover NASCAR Race Bus Trip Available – The Newberry Business Association
along with the Susquehanna Speedway Park are offering a bus trip to the Dover
Int’l Speedway for the NASCAR race on Sunday, June 4 for $125.00 per person.
The fees include roundtrip transportation and premium seats in the upper
section of turns 3 & 4. The bus will leave from Bumper Bob’s Steak and Seafood
at 6:00 a.m. Sunday morning. For more information or to reserve a seat,

- Trail Motors Automotive Discount – Anyone who takes an SSP ticket stub to
Trail Motors located at 4620 Susquehanna Trail North, in York will receive
special discounts for services provided by specialized auto technicians. The
discounts include a State Inspection & Emissions Test for $38.74 (normally
$48.74) or an oil change for $20.99 (normally $24.99).
