CGT Signs Agreement with DooRim and CH Draw
CAMBRIDGE, Ontario, May 23, 2006 -- Canadian General-Tower Limited (CGT), North America's leading supplier of automotive interior coverstock, today announced it has signed an exclusive, worldwide distribution agreement with Korean-based manufacturer DooRim and their partner CH Draw, which has offices located in Korea and Wichita, Kansas.
DooRim is an established polyurethane-coated fabric manufacturer with broad capabilities and a strong record for quality. With guidance and representation from CH Draw, DooRim will provide CGT with polyurethane-coated fabrics (PU) for the automotive interior market.
The long-term arrangement allows CGT to meet current demand for PU in North America and Asia, and anticipate future demand in Europe. The addition of PU to CGT's diverse portfolio of coated fabrics increases value to CGT customers by providing a one-stop shopping arrangement and expediting the development cycle. The PU product is an addition to CGT's product portfolio of coverstock material, which includes PVC, TPO and protein-based materials for DaimlerChrysler, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Nissan and Toyota.
CGT will supply automakers with PU for production starting this year. End products include seating surfaces, headrests, armrests, door inserts, instrument panel pads, center console lids and steering wheel covers. Applications address consumer preferences for softer materials that offer a feel of luxury.
