NHRA O’REILLY SUMMER NATIONALS
HEARTLAND PARK TOPEKA – TOPEKA, KANSAS
MAY 25-28, 2006
Focus on winner’s circle for Will in first visit to Topeka
TOPEKA, Kan. (May 23, 2006) – Hillary Will now turns her attention to
this weekend’s NHRA O’Reilly Summer Nationals which unfolds over
Memorial Day weekend. The California-native, who now lives near the
Kalitta Motorsports shop in Ypsilanti, Mich., is focusing on the Top
Fuel winner’s circle at Heartland Park Topeka.
"I have never raced at Heartland Park Topeka,” said Will, who drives the
KB Racing-owned, Kalitta Motorsports-managed Top Fuel dragster. “Last
year and the year before, I was at home during the race listening to the
results on the Internet. I'm looking forward to racing there and
hopefully picking up our first win."
Will enters qualifying for this weekend event No. 11 in the NHRA
POWERade Top Fuel point standing, just 20 points out of the top ten.
Will’s KB Racing-owned, Kalitta Motorsports-managed team, led by crew
chief Jim Oberhofer, leads the point standings for the season-long
battle in the Full Throttle Pit Crew Championship – a program, based on
a point system, that offers prize money to the four professional
categories in excess of $250,000 throughout the 2006 season. In Top
Fuel, the top point earning crew of each event earns $3,000, while
$25,000 goes to the highest point earning team for the entire 23-race
season.
Qualifying for Will and her KB Racing LLC dragster begins with two nitro
fuel sessions on Friday, May 26, scheduled for 5 and 8 p.m. and
concludes with two additional nitro fuel sessions on Saturday, May 27,
at 12: 30 and 3 p.m. Will begins her quest for the O’Reilly Summer
Nationals Top Fuel title on Sunday, May 28, with eliminations for all
classes beginning at 11 a.m. All times are local Topeka time (CT) and
subject to change at anytime.
