Budco Hosts Sixth Annual Business Partner Day

DETROIT--May 23, 2006--Budco, the Highland Park based marketing services and distribution company, hosted its sixth annual meeting of key business partners. This year's event -- Business In Motion -- was held at the Detroit Zoo in its Wildlife Interpretive Gallery.

Budco once again honored three business partners for exemplary performance. This year:

-- Comerica Bank, Detroit, Greg Wernette, First Vice President and Cindy Rehberg, Vice President & Alternate Group Manager

-- Rose Printing Services, Southfield, Frank Cassise, President

-- The EGT Group, Madison Heights, Jon Strager, President & CEO and Jeff Duncan, Account Executive

For the first time, Budco added a fourth award for Diversity Supplier of the Year.

-- Addison Graphic Solutions, Southfield, Bill Addison, President and Tad Collins, Account Executive

"Our business partners are vital to the success of Budco," said Director of Procurement, John Lemke. "They help us meet the needs and expectations of our customers everyday by not only providing excellent product and service but sharing innovative ideas."

The agenda for the day focused on the ever-changing business climate and the strategies that are needed for success. Budco President & CEO Bill Henry opened by sharing the status of the company. He highlighted key initiatives: continued strength of the Budco Dependent Audit solution, Budco's investment in its IT infrastructure, and the recent purchase of a third Xerox iGen3 color variable digital printer to support one-to-one relationship building initiatives.

He also spoke of company growth including continued expansion in markets outside of the State as well as the continued positioning of Budco as the leading national player in below-the-line marketing strategies.

Special guests included Larry Fobes, Director of the Institute for Organizational & Industrial Competitiveness at Wayne State University, Detroit. Mr. Fobes is the host of "Leaders on Leadership," a TV program cosponsored by Detroit Public Television. The program features business leaders discussing the challenges they have faced; Mr. Fobes shared highlights from various interviews.

The other guest was Louis Green, President & CEO of the Michigan Minority Business Development Council (MMBDC.) Mr. Green discussed the reasons why businesses are embracing supplier diversity and shared trends in the marketplace, the increasing purchasing power of the minority population, and the benefits business have derived from being committed to minority procurement.

Budco is a strong advocate of minority purchasing practices as well as a member of the MMBDC.
