SCOTT TAKES THIRD STRAIGHT CAROLINA/VIRGINIA FOCUS RACE

SPARTA, Ky. – For the 19th time in his career, Chase Scott of Concord, N.C.
took the checkered flags for a USAC Carolina/Virginia Ford Focus Midget Car
Series feature, this time on Sunday at Concord Speedway in North Carolina.

Scott, who now leads the standings by 55 points after his third straight
victory this season, passed Michael Sboro on Lap 18 of the 50-lapper, and
breezed to the win in an event marred by several incidents, including one on
Lap 48 which claimed Sboro, third-place runner Mike Ward and fourth-place
runner Aron Oakley.

“Once we got out there, we just tried to set a nice little pace, just trying
to get a little advantage in case something did happen,” said Scott, who
drove the No. 77 Performance Research machine. “I think we kept everybody in
check.”

A.J. Weeks, Mark Burt, Bradley Riethmeyer and Sboro rounded out the Top 5.

The next event for the Carolina/Virginia cars is set for June 10 at Hickory
(N.C.) Motor Speedway.
