TONY PEDREGON AND THE Q POWER RACE TEAM

WIN IN COLUMBUS FOR 2ND CONSECUTIVE 2006 WIN

- Pedregon Racing has now won 3 of the last 4

NHRA POWERade Funny Car races in 2006 -

2006 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series
Round 8 of 23
NHRA Nationals at National Trail Raceway in Columbus, OH
Race Date: May 19-21, 2006

COLUMBUS, Ohio (May 22, 2006) - Tony Pedregon and his Q Power Race Team
visited Winner's Circle with a win at the NHRA Nationals at National Trail
Raceway in Columbus, Ohio, this past weekend in the NHRA Nitro Funny Car
division. This is Pedregon's second consecutive victory this season (won in
Atlanta) and the third time Pedregon has conquered this track (previously in
2000 and 2003). Pedregon vaulted himself into the 6th spot in NHRA POWERade
points with the victory.

"We managed to outlast the competition again," an excited Pedregon said
after his final round triumph over Whit Bazemore. "We qualified third, the
best we have all year, which got our weekend off to a positive start.
Qualifying is so important, and getting a better qualification result was
one of our goals. Qualifying in the top-half of the field shows real
progress by our team. We outperformed the competition. There were some
areas we could have performed better, but that just shows the strength of
our team - that we can have a weekend that's not perfect, yet still win. We
had great teamwork, and the best oil with the best protection. It all added
up to a win. I'm glad to be sixth in points, but now we're aiming for the
top-five in Topeka and possibly another win. Three in a row would be nice."

"We put so much time and effort into what we do," Pedregon said. "On the
surface it seems like such a glamorous job but it's a lot of work just to
get to the track. To win one race out here is very difficult. To win two
in a row is fantastic. This is a huge victory for us."

Pedregon's two consecutive wins have lifted him from 12th to sixth place in
the points, while the Pedregon Racing two-car stable has dominated the past
three of four NHRA Funny Car events - Tony winning in Atlanta and Columbus
and Cruz Pedregon, Tony's brother and driver of the Advance Auto Parts Funny
Car, hitting the jackpot in Las Vegas.

In 2005, Tony Pedregon and the Q Power Race Team finished 7th in points with
two wins, was #1 qualifier three times and recorded the second quickest
elapsed time in NHRA history at 4.680 seconds in Chicago.
