Simon Garber, owner of Chicago Carriage Cab, the city's largest cab company, is investing over $30,000 to show support for his drivers hit hard by huge gas price hikes. Gas vouchers are redeemable at any BP station. WHY: Bigger Tips! Garber hopes by focusing national attention on the plight of cab drivers passengers will increase tips. WHO: Simon Garber, CCC president is a former cab driver. Garber, 41, emigrated with his family from Russia to America at age 12 and drove a taxi in NYC to pay for college. He never forgets his roots, although he now heads a taxi empire that stretches from Chicago to New York City and Moscow.
