New Winners at SSP on Friday Night

Fannasy,  Spangler and Watson All Win Career First Features at SSP on Friday  
Night 

Newberrytown,  PA (May 19, 2006); In a history making night,three out of 
four feature winners  picked up their career first victories on Friday night at 
the Susuquehanna  Speedway Park.  Steve Fannasy won in  the 20-lap Trail Motors 
Super Sportsman event with Mike Spnagler winning the  20-lap Late Model 
event.  Bill Brown  Jr. picked up the 15-lap Classic Car feature event.  Timothy 
Watson won the first ever  Speedway Auto Sales Mini Van Toll Booth race.         
  
Steve  Fannasy jumped out to an the early lead from his outside front row 
starting  position in the Trail Motors Super Sportsman event.  With only two 
caution flags on laps 3  and 7, Fannasy continued to perfect his line and led all 
20 laps to pick uphis  career first.  Dave Calaman started  twelth and ran out 
of time at the end of the race to make a run at Fannasy thus  settling for 
second.  Gregg Foster  finished third with Raymond Myers and Rich Eichelberger 
completing the top  five.  Fannasy and Myers both won  the caution free heat 
races. 
Mike  Spangler pick up his first career win in the Late Models as his engine 
expired  in the first turn after the checkered flag fell.    Jake Jones moved 
from tenth to  finish second behind Spangler.  Sean  Merkel finished in thurd 
with Carl Graves also moving thorugh the field from his  fourteenth staring 
position to finish fourth.  Josh Kimmel rounded out the top five.  Merkel, 
Spangler and Tim Fedder won  the heat races and Jerry Bard won the consolation 
event.   
Brown  was the name in victory lane but this time it was Bill Brown Jr. 
besting the  field of Classic Cars with this father and multi SSP winner Bill Brown 
Sr.  coming home in second.  Brown, Jr.  took the early lead with Kurt Welsh 
overtaking him on the second lap.  Brown, Jr. regained the lead on the  third 
lap and never looed back.  His  father started thirteenth and finished just 
behind his son.  Allen Cullum, Jamie Lloyd and Fred  Cullum finished third, 
fourth and fifth.  Brown Jr. and Sr. both won the heat races.   
There  was plenty of wild action in the first ever Mini Van Toll Booth Race 
presented  by Speedway Auto Sales.  Daryl Sipe  jumped out to the early lead in 
the race in which every driver must come to a  complete stop in one of the 
six “toll booth�?? lanes located just before the  Start/Finish line.  Sipe led 
the  first four circuits with Timothy Watson perfecting the “stop and go�?? to 
take the  lead on the fifth lap.  J.R.  Rodriguez made the race extremely 
interesting by coming from the last place  position all the way to third but was 
unable to overtake second place finisher  at the end.  Ashman Brant and Sherry  
Kitner finished fourth and fifth respectively.     
The  Sprint Cars return to SSP  on Thursday night, May 25 with the Great 
American School Buses, Sprint Cars,  Xtreme Stock Cars and Legends Cars.    
On  Friday night, May 26, the Trail Motors Super Sportsman, Late Models and 
Street  Stocks will be in competition along with the York Haven Auto Sale Super 
Oval  Mini Van race.  The Super Oval race  replaces the Mini Van Lazy Dog 
race which was originally  scheduled. 
Gates  will open for both the pit area and grandstand area at 5:00  p.m.  on 
Thursdays and Fridays.  Warmups  begin at 7:00  p.m.  with racing action 
beginning at 7:30  p.m.  Race fans can continue to expect a fast  paced, action 
packed 2 ½ to 3 hour program each and every night.   
Regular  General Admission Grandstand ticket prices for Thursday nights will 
be Adults  (18 & older) $14.00; Teens (13-17) $10.00; Children (12 & under) 
are  free.  Pit pass prices are $22.00  with a reduced price of $20.00 for all 
pit competitor license holders.  Prices will be slightly higher for  special 
events.   
Regular  General Admission Grandstand ticket prices for Friday nights will be

SSP  continues its Repeat Fan Discount in 2006 in which there will be a $2.00 
 discount for each person with a ticket stub from races during the previous 2 
 events completed only.  However, as  a token of its appreciation to the 
fans, SSP  is offering any fan with a ticket stub from May 18 or May 19, a $2.00 
discount  to the races on May 25 or 26 only.  Returning  fans are encouraged to 
write their name, address and phone number on the back of  the stub to be 
entered into special drawings during the season for great  prizes.  Last season, 
10 winners  were drawn from the repeat fans and each winner received $30 in 
SSP  Gift Certificates for tickets or concessions.  The discount is not valid 
for pit pass  purchases.  
The Susquehanna Speedway Park  is located off I-83 to exit 32, then 1.4 miles 
NW on SR382 to York  Road,  then 1.3 miles south.  For more  information,
