Tim Sauter to Help Raine Angelley
Tim Sauter to Help Raine Angelley
Charlotte-area boy in need of kidney transplant to be guest of McGill
Motorsports at the CARQUEST Autoparts 300 at Lowes Motor Speedway
May, 27th.
While many 14 year olds are out playing baseball or riding four-
wheelers with their friends, Mooresville, NC teenager Raine Angelley
stays home resting, the headaches too great to enjoy a normal teen
life. The pain is not from any normal headache but rather, caused by
the multiple daily medications he must take to aid him in his fight
against polycystic kidney disease. PKD is a disorder that causes the
formation of cysts in the kidneys. Raines was born with the disorder
and his kidney function is now below 20%.
Several possible kidney donors have been located but the costs
associated with a transplant, hospitalization and medications are
staggering. Insurance covers a large percentage of the bills but the
co-pays alone are over $500.00 per month.
Lester Buildings and McGill Motorsports (#36) driver Tim Sauter heard
about Raine’s plight through Vic and Donna Getzloff. “Vic and
Donna have been involved in motorsports for years, all the way back
to Vic being Dick Trickle’s crew chief for many years back in
Wisconsin. They helped me for years in both ASA and the Busch series.
Donna called me a few weeks ago and explained what was going on with
Raine and I told her I thought we could help raise some awareness for
Raine’s condition.??
The team will run Raine’s picture on the car along with the phone
number to make a donation to the Raine Angelley Fund to help offset
the costs of an upcoming transplant operation. Raine along with his
father will also be special guests of the McGill Motorsports team and
driver Tim Sauter prior to the event Saturday evening and will get an
up close tour of the garage area at the Lowes Motor Speedway.
Lester Buildings Vice President Larry Lembrich is proud to help such
a cause. “When we were first approached to help out and learned
about the severity of Raines condition, it was an easy decision for
us to get involved. Most important is to see Raine get the medical
care he needs. He’s a strong young man to endure what he is going
through.??
