Honeywell Completes Sale of First Technology Safety and Analysis Business
MORRIS TOWNSHIP, N.J., May 19, 2006 -- Honeywell today announced that it has completed the sale of the First Technology Safety & Analysis (FTSA) business to HgCapital, a European private equity investor, for GBP 50 million (USD 93.8 million). FTSA is a leading provider of crash test dummies, crash walls and instrumentation, as well as load cell products and strain gauge services primarily for the automotive industry.
"The completion of the FTSA sale is another example of the efficiency and effectiveness of Honeywell's acquisition process," said Honeywell Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Dave Cote. "The divestiture of FTSA represented a good opportunity to exit a non-core acquired business on an expedited basis, at attractive terms."
FTSA was one of three businesses that were part of the First Technology acquisition completed by Honeywell on March 24, 2006. Honeywell is integrating First Technology's Gas Sensing business into its Automation and Control Solutions (ACS) business and continues to assess the strategic fit of the Automotive & Special Products (ASP) business.
"The integration of the First Technology Gas Sensing business into our ACS business and newly formed Honeywell Analytics unit is proceeding on schedule," continued Cote. "This business gives Honeywell a strong position in the high-growth gas sensing and detection industry."
