CONNOR ON THE TEAM'S CHICAGO TEST:
"We took two trucks to the test, Trucks 08 and 11. Our initial focus was to
make 08 the best it could be with all the success it had last year and we
were relatively satisfied with our lap times and the handling
characteristics. Toward the end of the first day, we started working on
Truck 11, the newest truck to our fleet and realized Terry was most
comfortable with (Truck) 11 and the speeds certainly showed. After further
evaluation, we've decided to make Truck 11's debut this week; we should very
competitive."
COOK ON RACING AT LMS:
"Charlotte race last year was the first race of a great summer stretch for
us, ppc Racing No. 10 Ford Power Stroke Diesel by International race team.
We finished second there and ultimately thought we had a win sown up but
unfortunately we broke the left-front lower valance and lost some aero
downforce to the truck late in the race and I think that's what relegated us
to running second as oppose to winning but nevertheless a great showing.
That was by far our best race of the year leading up to the race at
Kentucky, where we ultimately were leading with a few laps to go but cut a
tire. That was the race that kind of started the momentum. Looking at this
year, we've used Gateway to start the momentum this year but the next race
we've got on the schedule is Charlotte and we'd like to carry the momentum
from Gateway into Charlotte and do one better this year and move from second
place to first place at the end of the night."
