WYSONG EYES MAY 29 SLC RACE

HOPING TO EXTEND SERIES POINT LEAD

Defending USAC/SLVRA Young Automotive Rocky Mountain Sprint Car Champion Jimmy Wysong will try to extend his streak of Rocky Mountain Raceways feature victories to eight of 11 when the series resumes action at the 3/8-mile paved Salt Lake City, Utah oval May 29.

Wysong stayed unbeaten this season with his 40-lap victory Saturday night, leading the final five laps after passing fast qualifier Dave Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald, Ryan Burdett, Rick Pardee and two-time series champion Jim Waters completed the "top-five."

Wysong leads Fitzgerald by six points and has now won seven of the last 10 races at the Salt Lake oval. Rick Pardee led the first six laps of Saturday's race before Wysong took over. Fitzgerald then paced laps 22-35 before Wysong moved back in front to stay.
