WESTERN SPRINTS HEAD BACK TO MADERA JUNE 3

GALEDRIGE NOTCHES FIRST USAC SPRINT WIN AT TRACY

The USAC Western Sprint Car Series will resume June 3 at Madera (Calif.) Speedway after three different drivers were victorious in the series' first three events.

Bradley Galedrige of Los Altos, Calif. won Saturday night's 50-lapper at Altamont Motorsports Park in Tracy, Calif., leading the final 18 laps in his Davey Hamilton APEX Racing MPH Enterprises/Wirtgen Eagle/Chevy. Tim Barber, Tony Hunt, Jeff Gardner and Mike Murgoitio rounded out the "top-five."

Hunt emerged with an 18-point lead over Murgoitio going into the June 3 Madera race. Hunt, searching a third series championship, was one of five race leaders at Altamont.

Brian Geiszler of Gresham, Ore. was transported to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley, Calif. after flipping on lap 32 of the feature. He was held overnight for observation.
