Porsche Boxster and 911 Carrera Make Edmunds.com 2006 Consumers' Most Wanted List

ATLANTA--May 17, 2006--The two Porsche models that epitomize the sportscar maker's performance mantra--the 911 Carrera and Boxster roadster--have once again made Edmunds.com 2006 Consumers' Most Wanted list. The awards, based on voting from recent visitors to the popular automotive website, are presented to participants' favorite vehicles in 27 different categories. This is the fourth consecutive year that Porsche models have garnered "Most Wanted" accolades via Edmunds.com.

Earning the 2006 Consumers' Most Wanted "Coupe over $45,000" is the 911 Carrera. The venerable Porsche sportscar has made Edmunds.com Most Wanted list every year since 2003. Porsche's Boxster roadster was named to the 2006 list in the "Convertible Under $45,000" category, an honor also bestowed on the sprightly roadster in 2005.

"Edmunds.com visitors regularly provide us and each other with feedback, so every year we ask them to vote for their Most Wanted Vehicles of the year," said Karl Brauer, Editor in Chief of Edmunds.com. "These are the vehicles that have captured the hearts and minds of the consumers."

The Porsche nameplate is a familiar sight in the Most Wanted awards roster. In 2005, Porsche captured four of the awards. Including those for the 911 and Boxster, both the Porsche Cayenne and 911 Cabriolet were named to the list. The Cayenne received a similar nod from Edmunds.com in 2003 and 2004, with the 911 Cabriolet also being lauded in 2003.
