ArvinMeritor Light Vehicle Systems Senior Director of Quality Systems Receives AIAG Outstanding Achievement Award

DETROIT, May 16, 2006 -- Dan Roche, senior director of Quality Systems within ArvinMeritor, Inc.'s Light Vehicle Systems (LVS) business group, received an Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) Outstanding Achievement Award at a ceremony held Monday, May 15. The Award is granted to individuals in recognition of substantial contributions made, and leadership on behalf of, the automotive industry.

Roche currently chairs an AIAG work group formed to discuss problem- solving processes for the automotive industry. The team's efforts recently resulted in the publication, Effective Problem-Solving Guidelines, produced by AIAG. Roche also serves as a representative with the Ford Supplier Quality Roundtable and the GM Supplier Quality Council, and is a certified lead auditor for Quality TS16949. In addition to his involvement with AIAG, he is a senior member with the American Association for Quality.

Roche joined ArvinMeritor in 1993, and has held his current role for three years. Prior to joining ArvinMeritor, Roche was employed as a plant quality manager at Owen-Brockway, a plastic molding company in Kansas City, Kan., after working as a manufacturing engineering coordinator at Aeroquip in Lawrence, Kan. Roche has been involved with automotive quality since 1989.

Roche, who lives in Macomb Township, Mich., holds a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kan.
