Chet Landis Joins Wheels, Inc.

Industry Veteran Brings More than 30 Years of Experience to Truck Engineering Area

DES PLAINES, Ill., May 16 -- Wheels, Inc., a leader in the multi-billion-dollar fleet-leasing industry, today announced that Chet Landis is joining the company as Manager of the company's Truck Engineering area.

"Chet Landis brings more than 30 years of experience in fleet management and trucking to his new position," said Gino Fontana, Senior Director, Purchasing Operations. "Complimenting extensive experience in truck specifications and design, federal Department of Transportation and state regulations compliance and process engineering, he has a successful track record in leveraging technology to create business solutions.

"Chet is also a Certified Transportation Professional and Certified Fleet Manager, has actively participated in an alternate fuels benchmarking study and has served on the Board of Directors of Elgin Community College truck driving school," Fontana continued. "His impressive background and in-depth knowledge of virtually all aspects of trucking will be invaluable in ensuring top-quality service delivery to Wheels' customers."

Landis joined Wheels after brief stints with Donlen Corporation and Saturn of Schaumburg. Prior to that, he served as Director of Fleet Transportation for Safety-Kleen Systems, Inc. where he led U.S. Operations for a fleet of more than 4,000 vehicles including trucks, trailers, tankers, and cars. His career at Safety-Kleen included multiple management roles in vehicle maintenance, vendor services and purchasing. He joined Safety-Kleen in 1979 as a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor, following work with a Ford dealership where he began his career in the automotive sector as a Sales, Parts and Service Director.
