AB Volvo (VOLVY) CEO to Ring The NASDAQ Stock Market Opening Bell

NEW YORK, May 10, 2006 -- The following is being issued by NASDAQ :

  What:
  Glenn Bourke, CEO of the Volvo Ocean Race (http://www.volvooceanrace.org/)
  will preside over the opening bell on behalf of AB Volvo

  The Volvo Ocean Race (co-owned by AB Volvo and Ford-owned Volvo Cars) is
  the world's premiere sailing competition.  The eight-month-long race
  around the globe covers more than 32,000 miles of open ocean and travels
  to 10 stopover ports around the world, including New York City.  The boats
  will depart on Thursday, May 11th for the next leg of the race -- New York
  to Portsmouth, UK.
