AAA Texas, Ford Motor Company and the Houston Texans Host Statewide Automotive Competition for High School Students
--Best Young Auto Technicians in Texas Square-OffWhat: Dozens of the best high school automotive technicians in Texas will square-off in the state finals of the 2006 AAA/Ford Student Auto Skills Contest. Teams of two high school seniors will attempt to diagnose and repair Ford vehicles that have been deliberately 'bugged'. The team with the best time wins. Who: High school juniors and seniors from around the state enrolled in high school automotive technology courses. When: Saturday, May 6, 2005 Start: 9:00 AM (Hands-On Competition) Where: Reliant Stadium (Houston, TX) One Reliant Park (610 at Kirby) (Entrance: Ford Gate) WHY: More than $100,000 worth of scholarships will be awarded at the state level to high school seniors. The winning team will represent Texas at the national finals in Washington, D.C., for a chance to win scholarships to further their education. More than 6,000 high school juniors and seniors in all 50 states competed in the 2005 competition.
