ADS Logistics' LoMaS(R) Provides Logan Aluminum and Its Carriers with Web Based Carrier Communications

HOMEWOOD, Ill.--May 2, 2006--

LoMaS(R) eliminates the need to deal with dispatch-related paper, providing more time to be proactive with carriers to provide better service to our customers.

ADS Logistics, LLC (ADS), the national provider of integrated supply chain services to the metals industry, announced today another successful implementation of LoMaS(R), ADS' supply chain management system. Logan Aluminum of Russellville, Kentucky, is utilizing the transportation management functionality (one of multiple LoMaS(R) features) to establish highly efficient two-way communications with its many contract trucking companies over the Web.

Loads are tendered via Internet accessible screens, E-mail or Facsimile transmissions (based on each carrier's specific profile). This is ideal for Logan since many carriers are not equipped with sophisticated data communication technology. A single PC with Internet access is all that is required to work with LoMaS(R).

Once loads are tendered by Logan, the carrier accesses the Internet to "accept" or "reject" the load, which automatically updates Logan's transportation management system. Based on that single accept/reject action, the loads are prepared to meet shipping schedules; load paperwork is produced, and the LoMaS(R) system is updated with carrier arrival, loading and departure times. When the load is delivered, the carrier inputs the data or submits EDI delivery information into LoMaS(R), whereupon the data is sent back to Logan to update its system.

Logan currently has 24 carriers on-line with 89% of loads being transacted through the system. "Carrier acceptance has been very positive," said Mo Oelker, Traffic Team Leader Materials Unit for Logan Aluminum. "The carriers we've interviewed have found the system very user friendly. Comments we've heard include: '. . . by far the easiest I am using at this time', and '. . . one of the most user friendly systems to operate that I have used in ten years of system work.' "

The LoMaS(R) system provides carriers a variety of tools to better manage processes including the ability to view a "dashboard" of real-time performance statistics for the Logan business, and to adjust loading times without the need to call Logan Traffic. Data on carrier performance is displayed to both Logan and the carriers, and can be downloaded for more detailed analysis. A "News" page is available to carriers to update them on fuel surcharge changes, special events and support information. Additionally, Logan can tender loads to a specific carrier(s) or can broadcast the tender to all carriers.

About LoMaS(R)

LoMaS(R) provides the platform for all supply chain service providers to communicate critical logistics information, and extends the functionality of a customer's product control system (typically ERP or Legacy) or transportation management system (TMS). With its extensive data capture and report capabilities, LoMaS(R) provides visibility of product from the supplier/manufacturer, in-transit, into warehouse locations or processing facilities, to point-of-delivery. LoMaS(R) provides companies the time to be proactive with customers and carriers by eliminating the need to deal with mass quantities of paper everyday. Data can be downloaded to spreadsheets for individualized analysis. LoMaS(R) is comprised of various modules that work together or can be utilized independently, including: Electronic Data Interchange, Inventory Management, Logistics Management, Multi-Modal Management, Transportation Management, and Warehouse Management.
