Menlo Worldwide Lands Contract With Jabil Circuit, Inc.
Menlo to Provide Centralized, Third-Party Warehousing and Fulfillment Services in Support of Jabil's U.S. Operations
SAN MATEO, Calif., May 1 -- Menlo Worldwide announced today it has signed an agreement with Jabil Circuit, Inc. , a global electronic products solutions company, to provide third-party logistics services in support of Jabil's global supply chain and U.S.-based assembly and fulfillment operations.
(Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20060418/SFTU007LOGO) The contract calls for Menlo to provide services including: -- Establishing a warehouse facility and managing the receipt, storage and staging of inventory for Jabil's US assembly operations in Memphis. -- Receiving and managing fulfillment of orders for parts, components and semi-finished goods for delivery to Jabil's customer's plants, which then assemble components into finished goods for end-use customers.

Menlo has selected Memphis, Tennessee as the location for the distribution operation serving Jabil. Menlo is providing a 150,000 square foot facility, as well as racking and storage equipment, warehouse operations personnel, inventory management processes and systems, transportation management and logistics services.
The assignment supports Jabil's supply chain and manufacturing operations by providing dedicated warehouse and inventory control resources that can be deployed rapidly and can "flex" with cyclical production and customer demand, noted John Novotny, Jabil's director of global logistics. "Our objective is to deploy best-in-class warehouse and inventory management practices that help drive efficiencies into our operations, and enable us to respond to our customers with more precision and flexibility," said Novotny.
